First Tank Transport Marks New Opportunities Following the Acquisition of HB Sluimers

A first transport that symbolises the expansion of our logistics services

Less than two weeks after the acquisition of HB Sluimers Transport, Van der Heijden has reached another important milestone. For the first time, one of our own tractor units completed a tank transport assignment for Jongeneel Transport.

While Van der Heijden has built a strong reputation over many years in container transport, port logistics and specialised transport, this transport demonstrates the new opportunities created through the acquisition of HB Sluimers Transport.

Stronger Together

The acquisition has brought more than new colleagues and customers. It has also added valuable expertise and specialist knowledge to our organisation, enabling us to offer an even broader range of transport solutions.

For this assignment, a Van der Heijden tractor unit from our own fleet was used. As the transport did not fall under ADR regulations, the journey could be carried out using our own equipment and one of our own drivers.

A Meaningful First Step

For Managing Director Bert van der Heijden, this transport represented much more than just another delivery.

“It shows how we continue to grow as a family-owned company. We are not replacing what we already do well; we are building on it by adding new opportunities. That is what makes this such a special milestone for me.”

Although this may seem like a relatively small step, it clearly illustrates the opportunities created by the acquisition of HB Sluimers Transport. By combining experience, expertise and specialist transport services, Van der Heijden continues to strengthen its position as a reliable logistics partner, ready for the future.
